"The Wizard of Oz on Ice," Wednesday, Dec. 25, the Arena A full (but not packed) Arena crowd greeted the opening performance of "The Wizard of Oz on Ice" Wednesday night. Splendid skating and marvelously colorful costumes were the best part of the show. The spectacle was well worth the admission price for a circle of loved ones ranging from adults who enjoy big-time entertainment down to toddler size. The story line, familiar to all who know the famous film, moved along briskly. The props on the ice were minimal, allowing for quick transitions between places and moods. The dark forest, for example, was four trees. Lighting provided a great deal of assistance for setting the tone and instantly created high winds, the yellow brick road and a field of red poppies..
